Legislative statutes and regulations are defined by the state and set the guidelines for the claims procedures of Property and Casualty companies.

Every year, states enact hundreds of new laws and issue regulations that affect specific areas of the insurance business, and claims divisions are challenged to be structured according to current requirements.

In addition to regulations for the number of days a claim must be settled in, claims divisions must adhere to specifications on notification requirements, proper documentation (Application For Benefits, Explanation Of Benefits, Reimbursement Forms and various types of Investigation Letters) and appropriate investigation procedures.

Insurance companies failing to comply are subjected to millions of dollars in fines as well as the cost of internal audits by the state.

Current forms of claim processing require handlers to identify claim types, adhere to required procedures based on state statutes, track the number of days the claim or investigation has been outstanding and to issue the appropriate forms and correspondence based on the status of the claim and or the investigation.

Removing this responsibility from the claim handler, ePIP business processes are defined according to individual state regulations, allowing claim handlers to do what they are paid to do. Resolve claims.
